forest reciprocity
we care for the forest and the forest cares for us
Woodvale forest farm encompasses 18-acres of beautiful hardwood forest in se tennessee and practices sustainable agroforestry practices.
How is agroforestry used at woodvale?
While the tenants of agroforestry are defined, how agroforestry is implemented varies from farm to farm. Here at woodvale, we are implementing agroforestry in the following ways:
growing medicinal plants under the forest canopy using wild simulated methods
growing medicinal mushrooms under the forest canopy using log inoculation
maintaining livestock inside the forest structure, rather than a traditional pasture
maintaining/enhancing the natural riparian buffer along our creek
